Bernadette Coyne

Bernadette is Managing Director of Amárach Research. She was founder of Research Solutions in August 2000, which was acquired by Amárach in 2005. Prior to forming Research Solutions, she was a Director with Lansdowne Market Research for six years, following five years research experience with the London agency Pegram Walters Associates. As a dualist, she is experienced in both Qualitative and Quantitative techniques, specialising in multi-stage projects requiring diagnostic research skills.

Bernadette’s primary degree is in sociology, geography and maths. She has post-graduate qualifications in education and marketing from the Chartered institute of Marketing (UK). She lectured on the CIM Diploma and Certificate course for over three years at the University of Westminster in London.

Bernadette was Chairman of the Marketing Society of Ireland in 2000, having served on the Council for over four years. She has extensive experience of brand and advertising development tracking research.

Michael McLoughlin

Michael McLoughlin is Chief Executive of Amárach Research. A graduate of University College Dublin (MA; MBA), Michael joined Amárach from the financial services industry. He has led numerous quantitative and qualitative research projects since joining Amárach, particularly in business to business research, new business propositions and in the area of financial services. Michael has operational responsibility for many areas of the Group’s activities. He has led the development programme that the Company has undertaken. Amárach now has offices in the UK (www.marketresearchpartners.com) and has overseen the completion of the acquisition of several other market research companies.

Gerard O'Neill

Gerard O’Neill is Chairman of the Amárach Group. Gerard studied economics at the LSE before working at The Henley Centre for Forecasting in London. He then became business planning manager in An Post, before setting up Henley Centre Ireland. Subsequently re-named Amárach Consulting, the company became the first Irish agency to establish an overseas operation (in the UK). Subsequently, Research Solutions and Amárach Consulting merged to form Amárach Research in 2008. Gerard is a member of ESOMAR, the Market Research Society and a director of AIMRO - the association of Irish market research organisations. He was previously chairman of the Marketing Society, and a director of the Irish Direct Marketing Association. He is also a member of IBEC's Energy Policy Committee. He speaks and writes regularly on the business impact of economic and social change.
